I recently decided to start a blog. I gain a great deal from reading other people’s thoughts, and yet I have always felt it would be presumptuous and self-important for me to publish my own. However, if everyone with such feelings decided not to share their thoughts, I would have missed out on a great deal of insight, perspective, and humor that I’ve enjoyed at their expense.
I don’t intend to offer anything as grand as the insight, perspective, and humor that I enjoy from others; that would be setting the bar too high. I will be satisfied to commit some of my thoughts to writing, forcing myself to articulate what’s rattling around in my mind, and to track those thoughts over time. Hopefully with this modest goal I will not become any more presumptuous or self-important than most of the bloggers I enjoy reading.
